Frequently asked questions

How small can it make my PDF?

Scanned and photo-based PDFs often shrink by 70 to 90 percent. A one-page scan usually fits under 100 KB. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and won't shrink much.

Will the text stay selectable?

No. To get large savings, pages are saved as optimised images. That's perfect for uploading certificates and ID proofs, but keep the original if you need to edit or copy text.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and rebuilt inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters for marksheets, bank statements and ID documents.

It says the PDF is password-protected. What now?

Open it in your PDF viewer with the password and use Print to PDF to save an unlocked copy, then compress that copy.
