Frequently asked questions
What does “age as on 1 August” mean?
Your age is counted on that exact date, not on the day you apply. Two candidates born a day apart can fall on different sides of the limit.
How much age relaxation do OBC and SC/ST candidates get?
For most central government jobs: OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years, SC/ST 5 years, and persons with benchmark disabilities 10 years more (13 for OBC, 15 for SC/ST). Some notifications differ, so check yours.
Is the upper age limit inclusive?
Yes. “Not more than 27 years” means you're eligible until the day before your 28th birthday. The calculator shows the exact birth-date range allowed.
